Saturday night – Victory is ours

The climax of the festival is Saturday night. The HK Areena stage will showcase amazing performances: big names from in the gospel music scene, Bible teaching, and the MN Houseband giving us its all. For the first time in Finland, the Maata Näkyvissä Festival proudly presents the wildly popular alternative rock group Skillet. Also the unique and original Higher Ground choir, the big boys of Finnish gospel music kls. and Dien Taylor from the Bronx will take the stage.

Muu vaara!

They are back, despite popular demand! The knights are armed with surprising turns of the plot, friendly banter and comedy. The Muu vaara! trio is composed of Sami Asp, Antti Sevanto and Mikko Vaismaa.

Bible stand

The Bible stand will offer nourishment in the HK Areenan also this year. You are in for lightning lectures and may pose questions. Providing you service are the Bible pros Antti Laato and Pekka Lindqvist from Åbo Akademi University.

Festival competitions

The MN Festival challenges local churches to take part in the festival countdown.

1. Banner contest
Put together a group and fashion the best banner ever. Great prizes will be given away, and further details are provided on the MN web site.

2. Festival congregation of the year 2011
A festival congregation will be chosen also this year. Let us know why yours is the best. Creativity, activity, ingenuity, and humor are factors in the choice.

3. Maata Näkyvissä short film festival
Grab a camera and direct a short film with your pals. Send it to the MN Festival by October 24th. A panel of judges will review them all and show the best ones on Sunday. The winner will be shown in the closing concert in HK Areena. The theme of the competition is Life without Death.

Studios dig deeper

The studios are the absolute gem of the festival. They dig deep into the soul of the young congregation. Don’t miss this opportunity! Dive into discussions on what matters, on life and faith. Participants have a chance to win prizes.

Workshops open the gate to a new world

The workshops allow you to try something new and different. The Gospel Star competition invites talented singers to perform with a band in front of a live audience. The winner will get to perform in the closing concert in HK Areena on Sunday. The Sulkakynä workshop is a crash course on how to write fiction. The dance workshop gives you a taste of the wonderful world of modern dance. None of the workshops require prior skills, but you are also welcome if the area is familiar to you.

Ilta Laura kanssa – a talk show

The Maata Näkyvissä Festival also features the talk show An evening with Laura. You are in for a treat: interesting people, tough questions and topical themes. The talk show hostess Laura Siltala leads the discussions from a viewpoint of hope, bearing in mind that life isn’t always a picnic. Real, intimate and hopeful encounters in the Fair Center restaurant on Sunday at 11.15.

Confirmation Campers’ Get-together

Last summer’s LEAF confirmation campers and camp counselors take a walk down Memory Lane. The get-together features a surprise guest, fond camp memories, mouth-watering snacks and an excellent program.
